The only other tire that I would run on my TJ are Boggers. But Boggers are not very good on road so I went with the SSR's. I have 35x10.50r15 and they work great. Off road they love mud. On road they work well, yes thay are loud but they are mud tires. All my friends are now running them after seeing me go through mud holes that they could not with other brand tires. You do have to rotate them every 2 to 3K miles and keep them aired up or they will have problems. My Jeep is a daily driver but is more of a trail rig at hart. I'm not saying they are the best mud tire but I feel they are the best Street/Mud tire on the market.

I'm on my second set of 33x12.50 SSR's and for the jeeper looking for an all round tire that really performs good in all conditions but is most concerned about traction off road this is your tire. Sure they ride a bit rough, make some noise but this isn't a tire you run on a Cadillac. This is a tire for the OFF-ROADER that drives to work all week and hits the trails on the weekend and wants to get through and over anything mother nature can throw at them.

I just purchased a set of SSR Radial 33x12.50R15 on my 05 Rubicon. 4wheel parts tried to talk me out of buying these tires but I didn't listen. They are a great looking tire and work very well in mud. The downfall is they are very hard to keep balanced and vibrate down the road. They are quiet for a big lug tire but just to rough for a daily driver. I wouldn't recommend these tires to a everyday driver, but are good offroad.

Have this tire in a 31x10.50R15 on my TJ. Very good offroad. If you drive it much at highway speeds it will start to chunk. Other than that, no complaints. Keeps traction in most situations, and cleans mud well. Might buy again.

Very Good Mud Tire | |

So far, I'm on my second set of the 31x12.50R15 SSR's on my TJ and they have only a month or two left on them. They really dig in the mud and aren't too rough on the street. I don't have much experience with other mud tires, but I do know they are definitely smoother running and quieter than thornbirds. Expect to get about 40,000 highway miles out of them if you drive a TJ. The only problem I found with them was that they are hard to keep balanced and have a tendancy to cup and vibrate more as they wear down. It's the nature of the beast! I plan to go with a less aggressive tire next time, since I do a lot more highway driving than mudding.
