Reviewer: A JeepReviews.com User from (grimshaw, AB)
hey! my husband bought a 2007 jeep wrangler from someone and it came with a pro comp 4 inch suspension lift. its been in the shop for a year cuz everytime we drive the thing it has the nastiest death wobble iv ever seen. noone can seem to fix it and the guy we got it from doesnt have the original suspension for it. is it really the suspension making it wobble or could it possibly be something else? what do u propose we should do??

Customer Rating Not a good choice at all...

I have the stage 2 kit with MX6 shocks on my 08 Rubicon. After 1 year and only 1 mud hole later...rear end sags and looks like there is no lift at all in the back. These kits eliminate the front rake on the jeep (which i like) but with the sagging it doesnt look level like it should. Looks like i have a 5 inch lift int he front and 2 in the back. If you could dip your entire jeep in grease you should as this thing is noisy. Creaks from everywhere possible and no way to fix it. So thats how it looks and sounds as for how it rides, have you ever ridden in a tank? Buy this kit and you can say that you have. These kits are a mid level lift and the price got me. Now i am looking to throw away an $1800 lift after 1 year, so you may want something now but please take my advice and save for a better kit. There are lots out there but they cost. Remember you get what you pay for. Their customer service in non existant and wont respond to anything.

Customer Rating Not bad

Havent had it long but so far runs fine. Very pleased with quality but whoever wrote the instructions was born from chickens. Absolute s***. Missing lables, blury pictures, and you have to have a solid general knowlege of cars to do install. Many many hours of confusion but worth it in the end. Worth the money for medium wheeling and good looks.

Customer Rating Stage 1 4 inch Suspension Lift
Date: Aug 02, 2009
Reviewer: A JeepReviews.com User from (Dallas, Texas)
I recently had a nationally known shop install a Stage 1 4 inch lift with ES3000 shocks on my 2004 Wrangler. What a huge dissapointment in the harshness of the ride, not to mention the front-end shake (death wobble) that starts around 55 mph. Lots of issues, heading back to the shop on Monday to reconsider and try a Skyjacker Softride kit with a 2 1/2 inch lift with Hydra shocks...it can only get better from here. Given this Jeep is a daily driver 95% of the time, I would not recommend. What was I thinking??

Customer Rating Have a mechanic install

Yes, if your mechanical and have worked on cars before, you can do this install with some help from friends. However if you're like me, and this is the largest most complicated install you have done, let a pro do it. The instructions are horrible and vague. Time wise it took forever, also I highly recommend getting adjustable upper control arms, and a rear track bar. I was not able to get the factory rear track bar even with the relocation mount. Over all I am happy with my install job, rides good on the trails and looks great.

Customer Rating Pro Comp stage 2 with boxed lower arms and mx6 shocks
Date: May 21, 2008
Reviewer: A JeepReviews.com User from (Visalia, CA)
I personally installed this kit myself with the physical help of my brother. First off the kit rides and handles very well for a lifted short wheel base truck, the mx6 shocks are great and are fun to tune to your preferance. But, the downside is the installation. The instructions are absalute crap!!!! Nothing is marked and even in one section when your working on the front control arm it says to use the rear control arm for the front. There were holes that should have been there and weren't and brakets that had to be shaved and so on. It also took some time to figure out what part was what cause the labels did not match anything from the instructions. It took 8 hours labor and 14 hours deciphering the encripted instuctions to install. Give yourself plenty of time and brakes to relax from the frustraition. Oh, and a tip- the pitmen are is a pain to remove, i broke a rented remover from kragen. Autozone caries a better pitmen arm remover for about $16 bucks, (the brand is of the puller is - OEM) just loosen slowly and use a penetrating lubricant to help ease it off.
This is a great kit installed just a b#$*h to INSTALL.

Customer Rating 4" Pro comp Stage 2 Suspension Lift

Reviewer: A JeepReviews.com User from (Dayton, Texas)
i purchased my 4" pro comp suspension lift 1 month after buying my 04' rubicon may of 2004.. i am very pleased w/ it.. one problem i have are the lower control arm bushings wearing out after doing a lot of flexing in the front.. but for 50 dollars new bushings can be bought.. the ride quality is very good as far as i'm concerned.. it's a JEEP.. flex is great when runnin' good 3 & 4 trails w/ 33" tires.. overall, it's a good short arm lift..

Customer Rating Stage 1 Lift 4inch

I recently purchased the stage 1 4inch lift for my 05 Rubicon. Good lift for the price. Looks good, the only downfall that I have for the lift is that it is very rough riding. I would highly recommend upgrading to better shocks. I have the Pro Comp ES1000 shocks and there terrible.

Customer Rating Good basic 4 inch kit
Date: Oct 31, 2005
Reviewer: A JeepReviews.com User from (Orange, CA)
I have now had the kit for about 20K miles. I have some sage in the rear and it is noticable. I also have a heavy rear tire carrier on it too, so that is not a fair test. I have some minor "squeeking" from one of the rear arms, which are not greasable. I also have had Good Year tire shop and 4 Wheel parts be unable to align the rear as one of the arms is slightly shorter than the other! The MX6 shocks are FANTASTIC. The adjustability has been great and I'd buy these shocks by themselves. The kit performs fine and gives light flex but does a good job of keeping the tires down. Overall, a good inexpensive kit that does the job.

Customer Rating 4" Pro-Comp SA lift
Date: Jul 23, 2005
Reviewer: A JeepReviews.com User from (Riverside, CA)
I have had my 4" Pro-Comp Stage 1 lift now for 30,000 mi. - 1 1/2 years now, and have taken my Wrangler Rubicon across California, through Baja, Mexico and to 4 wheeling spots with my 4WD club - The Rubicon Owners. With the Pro-Comp MX6 shocks, I have been able to walk...rather, flex my way through any level 3+/5 trail. Big Bear, Anza Borrego, 29 Palms, Baja have been no problem. The springs have not lost any lift height over the past 19 months, and on-road handling is spot-on.
