I have attended this Jamboree twice. Once in 1995 and again in 2004. The setting was beautiful with the fall foliage, accomodations were great (inns and campgrounds available) and the people were awesome! Dinner at the Inn was excellent and a great way to cap of a full day of Jeeping while sharing videos of the days runs. The trails varied by experience and were very challenging. Unfortunately for this year (2005), the Jamboree has been cancelled due to land issues... This is why it is so important that we join a club to help keep our trails open, our sport alive and make sure our voices are heard...!! |

I went to the Mohawk Trail Jeep Jamboree in 2002. At the time, I was an extreme newbie and my Jeep had never been in 4lo. I had a blast at the Jamboree! The organizers and attendees were great. People definitely took the time to teach me about wheeling and didn't make me feel like an idiot. The trail offerings at this Jamboree were quite broad...it was everything from "basic" trails to winching & body damage required trails. I've met the Jeep Jamboree founders (the Smith family) at both of the Jamborees I've been to and they are a class act. My wife and I made new friends at our first Jamboree that we still keep in touch with. The only knock on the Jeep Jamborees are the price, it can get pretty steep for two people plus lodging expenses (this is what prohibits me from going to more of them). Otherwise, I think these are great events...good people, good wheelin, great times. |
